01 and 02 heads are the same castings. 243
Telling whether they are 02's with the sodium filled valves I am not sure.
I have a set of early production 01 Z06 heads that have blue springs. But I think they changed the color later in 01.

I examine Ls6 heads at car shows to see what the head markings were. 2001/2002 Ls6 heads were marked 243 on the heads, at the front , right, lower area of the passanger side head when installed.
2001/2002 Ls1 heads were marked 241 in the same area. Pre-2001 heads were machined in this area, with no markings, just the milled out area.
The "D" shaped ports should also be a give away.

These are the only numbers I am aware of for the LS6 heads.
2001: 12560801
2002: 12564825
The ’02 valves weigh less and are longer than other LS1/LS6 valves. As far as the ports go, they don’t look like stock LS1 ports but they don’t look like stock LS6 ports either :confused:

i didn't look at your link the first time around... i was just answering the question about the color of the springs...
with the round ports, it doesnt look like an LS6 head.

They are being advertised on Ebay. I call BS on the ports too. Pretty creative to try the yellow spring trick.
I asked for the casting number to see if it was the angle of the photo.
