My right headlamp will not come up. I've already replaced the plastic gear with a brass one and I do not hear any noise coming from the headlamp when I turn my lights on. If I turn the manual head lamp **** to raise the headlamp, then turn it back and tighten it, the headlamp will go up when I turn it on, but only that one time. I've cleaned both connectors on the headlamp, sanded and used contact cleaner, but it still does not respond. What is my next step?
8VETTE7's post is what I typically reference in these sort of situations.
Even if the plugs are still there, what you may do as a temporary diagnosis is remove them and flip them around to the other sides. Over time, the open and close motion makes an indention in the plugs as they hit against the stop. If when flipped around the headlight opens and close normally then you know it was the plugs.
OEM the plugs are no longer made but vendors offer replacements.
Check the arm that is connected to the motor that raises and lowers the assembly. Did you put it on in the correct position? Compare it to the other side...
Had the same problem recently. The headlight control module located under the right headlight was the culprit. Changed it out,no more problem. This module apparently controls both headlights. I was going to change out the left side (preventive maintenance) no module there.
