Default 2001 Z06 Sluggish Acceleration

2001 Z06 with 27K miles. 1st year with sluggish acceleration.
I think I had bad gas over the winter.
Run through a few tanks of Sunoco 93 octane.
Still seems sluggish.

Any codes being thrown?

What's the battery voltage?

Battery Voltage 14.1
1 Code - P0300H

2004 the dealership replaced (2) spark plugs #2 & 4 at 8,300 miles. From what I remember the car felt like the motor was going to fall out.

Now the acceleration just seems sluggish. Idle is just a little rough.

The check engine light flashes, but the dealer indicated a long time ago this was an air check valve and I have read this does not necessarily need to be fixed. What does everybody think about this?

That code is for a random misfire, which would absolutely cause sluggish acceleration. It's never smart to just replace 2 out of 8 plugs, go get a full tuneup done.

The flashing check engine light doesn't indicate an air check valve, its the car telling you there's a misfire.

I would go ahead and replace all tuneup items even if it isn't at the designated mileage. Spark plugs, wires, air filter, fuel filter, pcv valve. And if the dealer told you the flashing CEL was indicating a bad check valve, stop going to that dealer.

Another thing you could do since you also indicate that the idle is rough, is very carefully disconnect each plug wire and see if there's a change in idle. Honestly though, since there isn't a code for a specific cylinder I would start with just a tuneup. As old as it is, it certainly wont hurt.

In addition to what has been mentioned I would suggest removing and cleaning the MAF with MAF cleaner spray. A dirty MAF can cause those symptoms. I am not sure if you have an aftermarket air intake on the car or a k&n filter but oiled filters can lead to build up on the MAF sensors and cause rough idling and acceleration as I've experienced in the past.

I forgot to add...I also suggest taking a quick scan of the engine bay to ensure that everything is connected properly so a vacuum leak can be ruled out.

I had a similar issue with my 01 Z06, only difference is my check engine light did not flash. Mine turned out to be a vacuum leak at the throttlebody. The piece that connects from the air bridge to the throttlebody was leaking on the throttlebody side. It was under the throttlebody so everything looked good. Here is what I found. Night and day difference once replaced good luck

Good day! I had a similar problem with my 01 C5 running sluggish when passing on the interstate and ran across a suggestion here to try Chevron Techron, so I did.

That **** is magical. My car has never run better -- quicker acceleration at all speeds.

I was just about to respond with the same thing... Sounds like injectors need cleaning. I'll second the Techron - try a bottle... Good luck!

Few people change the fuel filter on these cars.

If your car is 97-mid 03 and you can’t remember when changed, go ahead and do it.

I've had slugglish acceletarion problems twice, and on both opportinities just cleaning the MAF with electronics cleaner solved the issue.
