The set up I am going with should yield 400 to 440 RWHP. 2000 coupe, 6sp. What do recomend I do on the bottom end. I plan on bumping the rev limiter to 6550 and shifting no higher that 6500.
Re: Bottom end recomendations for H/C car (gary brown)
Stock is fine for 6500, but anymore than that i would do rod bolts.
This is what i did to mine and i have been revving to 6900 without
any problems.ASA guys rev close to 7000 all season long on stock
bottom ends without rebuilds with 2001 blocks.Only thing GM did to
beef up the bottomend is the rodbolts on 01 and up ls1 engines.I do
believe the Katech bolts are better then the newer style because the
only real difference is a tin sleeve on the newer GM bolts, other than that
the 97-00 and the 01 and up bolts look exactly the same.

Shawn,
I heard GM beefed up the rod bolts in 2000 an newer, anyone else? I am hoping for 425 RWHP which puts me at the threshold of 500 at the flywheel. Just so I sleep well I feel this urge to fortify the bottom end.
