Default Fuel Pressure problem

2002 convertible, Stock. I have been having start problem after replacing my fuel filter. It cranks for about 5 seconds then starts. I put a fuel pressure gauge on it this morning. The gauge read 0. Turned the key and the fuel pressure went to 70 then back to 0 in about 2 seconds. I tried this several time and got the same results. I then started the car and the fuel pressure went to 100 and stayed there while running. I shut the engine off and the pressure went to 0 again. Any ideas on where to start?

there have been several posting like this lately after replacing the fuel filter, the pressure regulator is in the filter and some brands seem to be failing.

Thanks Guys. I did not know that the fuel filter performs BOTH fuel pressure regulation and fuel filtering. I will have to get another GOOD fuel filter. I purchased this filter off of Amazon; PTC PGF336 Fuel Filter.

Installed the AC/Delco fuel filter and everything works as advertised. Good fuel pressure when I turn the key on and good steady 45 PSI when running.
