I have been toying with the idea of having a cam installed in my "stock" 99 Vette.I want to install a cam that will idle like stock without the lope.I will take it to DA MAN in OXNARD. Any suggestions as to the best(?) cam for this kind of installation? This car is my only means of transportation so I want it to be driveable. :chevy :chevy :flag :flag :chevy :chevy
There is sooooo much information here on the forum. Try a search in the C5Tech section first. :yesnod: Lot's of previuos posts on this exact question.:yesnod:
But generally the stock cam is on a 116 LSA and smooth..You can go with a 208/212/525/114..or..216/220/532-114 Compcam and probably gain 15-20 RWHP and retain a good idle with no programming issues..Just my .02:D
P.S. You might consider a ASP Undrdrive pulley at the same time and pick up another 8-10 RWHP and save a couple of $$ with the install..:D
The 02 LS6 cam would be a good choice if you want your car to sound and idle like stock it should give you about 20 RWHP. You might also want to call Comp Cams tech dept. I am sure they can help with your choice. Ditto on Vince's suggestion of the underdrive pulley.
