Default Problem with Gas Door Switch

As I've posted elsewhere (http://forums.corvetteforum.com/zerothread?id=403481), I've been doing some things in the interior of my 01 coupe that have required repeated removal and reinstallation of the armrest and console assemblies. Yesterday, I was unhappy to find that the gas door switch didn't work. I was in a hurry (at the gas station, naturally), and didn't have time to inspect the switch assembly, but from memory, there is some kind of small circuit board beneath the switch, and what must be a simple contact connection (I don't recall any kind of plug) that must engage when the armrest assembly is mated to the "tunnel". Is this right? What kind of failure could be causing this? Any known glitches for me to look for?

Ya, underneath the switch it probably came disconnected. Mine did this once too while working on the center console.

There is an emergency release wire over top of the driver rear wheel well, under the carpet. Long wire. Give it a hard tug.
