I have found that if a temperature **** is turned too quickly, the two sides will get out of sync with each other, one blows hot, the other cold. The owner's manual says to put both ***** in the center, adjust the driver's **** to 73 degrees, then turn the ignition off, pull the ac fuse in the passenger's footwell fuse box, turn it back on, reinstall the fuse, and wait one minute for the system to sync. I tried this but it took 3 tries for it to work. On the last try I also disconnected the battery for several minutes, then, maybe by coincidence it worked correctly. I have had no further sync problems since.

My brother Jim owns a new GMC truck, he says the women are always turning the ac temp **** to tune the radio. His ac gets out of sync because of the **** twiddling about once a week and he has to recalibrate it using the method in the owner's manual. If one or both of the actuators has a cracked gear it will set codes and the resync won't work.

I was able to get a finger tip on the actuator shaft, then turn the drivers temp **** both ways, I could feel the shaft follow the temp command as I turned the temp ****. When the **** stopped the shaft also stopped. The passengers actuator could be heard cycling the door both ways but it never stopped turning it's shaft. I pulled the dash and replaced it, now everything works as it should.

When I first got my C5 in 2009, I had an incident where suddenly one chilly morning I had no heat.

Researching Corvette Action Center I found a factory note that indicated that if the temperature **** is rotated too fast, it will confuse the computer and can result in no action or unpredictable action by the HVAC system.

Since then, I have been sure to turn the temperature **** slowly and have never had a problem since.
