Default ? About TSP 228r cam

This is the cam I believe I am going to go with. I have seen videoes and posts where the lift is .588 but when I check TSP's site it shows a .600 lift. Does anyone know if it changed or if you can still get the .588 lift? Thanks

I believe they have changed both the lobe shape and lift.

I think I saw where they redesigned it with new lobe shapes, different cam cores, and even with the higher lift it was supposedly more valvespring friendly.

Why do you want the .588 lift?

I don't necessarily want the lower lift, I was just curious if there was a reason for the change. I was thinking the lower lift would be "safer" and not be as hard on motor life but then again I really don't know much about cams.. trying to learn though.

The lobe profile has quite a lot to do with it as well. If a lobe opens the valve more aggressively, its harder on the spring than one that opens the valve slower, even at the same lift.

They can definitely help you out with more info on that than I can, but that's the general idea.

Thanks for the info, I will get with them for more info. It's a very popular cam and I haven't seen anything negative about it yet. I'm going to go with one of their package deals the price is hard to beat.
