Re: Got some Squeal Coming From the Back Driver Brake.... (LowFlight)
...under light braking. What can I do to stop it...ca only has 2k miles on it...Thanks
Try l hard stops from about 65 MPH down to 20 MPH. Don't let the car get much below 20 and space out your stops so you don't have a lot of heat in your rotors. It's ideal if you let them cool to the touch between stops. I usually do about 6 of these and it does a good job of bedding the pads in and surfacing the rotors.
Re: Got some Squeal Coming From the Back Driver Brake.... (LowFlight)
I've had a similar problem with the rear brakes. Under moderate braking the left rear brake squeels. I've "fixed" it twice this year doing the following:
1) lightly de-glaze the pads by removing them and rubbing them for a fedw seconds on the garage floor.
2) bending the spring steel "anti-squeel" parts that fit between the caliper and pads.
The real solution is probably only one of those two steps, but I've been more interested in making the squealing stop than in scientifically determining the solution.
Next spring I'll get another set of pads all around. By the way, I'm using GM Ceramic from Fichtner.
