Decided to purchase one of the Chinese Tech 2 scanners after reading threads on the subject. I see that there are several different model numbers. Some have purchased the SP23-C, some the SP23-B3. There is also available an SP23-1 and SP23-B. Any thoughts on which of these
would be the best fit for my 2000 Vert?
I purchased my Tech 2 from ali-express. I have not had any problems with the unit I purchased. Mine was the basic unit with all cables and the GM software for GM vehicles up to 2013. Mine did not come with the carrying case.
I purchased a universal case that fit just fine from a US Company. I paid $270.00 shipped to my door.
I would think the first item you listed would be fine. Good luck getting your Tech 2.

Google search and read this post: How to pick out a best GM Tech 2. As it said, SP23-B is the best quality. SP23-1 (without carrying case) is lower price.
tpms should be located within the bcm and as far as I know(which isn't much mind you) you cant disable tpms as federal law dictated it be there after a certain year. so manufacturers didn't make that a changeable variable for our vehicles. someone please tell me I'm wrong though because that light is irritating lol

The C5 Z06 doesn't have tpms, so 01-04 can turn off the tpms. I've read on here that people have had it turned off by the dealership, but finding the dealership (or more correctly service manager) who will okay it is the difficult part.
edit: Trick for getting the light to "turn off".
My friend has a very old tech2 so I had him try to turn off the tpms on my 04 base. He tried but couldn't find the function and thinks it's because he doesn't have all the GM updates/access. As a workaround, he told me to unhook the battery cable and let the vehicle sit (~10 mins to let it fully power down and loose memory). On reconnecting the battery, no tpms complaining. His direction was that AS LONG AS you don't go into the tpms setup options, it won't look for them/complain. Since doing this, I've scrolled through the gauges and my tpms shows blank (no number next to the FL/FR or RL/RR) and it never complains.
No it will not, you have to have the 01-04 Corvette to delete the TMPS. The 97-00 C5 had the TPMS programmed in the firmware portion of the PCM but when the Z06 was introduced the moved it to programmable section. A remote possibility is using a Software package like EFILive, Carputing, etc you might bench load a 2001 software package into a 00 or earlier PCM and then change the programmable sections back to the 00,99,etc calibration. I am not sure if that would work but I believe that they were all 0411 PCM's.

Got mine for about 250 off dhgate, works well so far.
Where are you located?
Still a bit more than I'd want to pay for something I'd probably only use for exactly one purpose and then put on the shelf. I live in southern Indiana.
