Just started up my c5 -- first time in a few months -- and the AC is blowing hot.
I've fixed ac's on older chevy motors -- is there anything weird / specific I need to know about the ac system on the c5? it's a 2000, the compressor is kicking on, so I'm assuming it's low on refrigerant. I have all the equipment to recharge-- what does it take, 134a? how many pounds?
Thanks!

Yes, R-134a. Check your pressures against the chart below. Make sure you take your readings with:
Engine @ 2000 rpm
A/C in coldest setting
Fan at maximum speed
Both windows down
Thermometer in center air vent
When adding refrigerant, pay attention to both pressures, otherwise you might end up with the high side sky-high trying to get the low side to the chart's value.
if you find a leak and need a hard line replaced hit me up....I have all of them available from my part out except one that I sold today...chances are I will have it.
thanks. I've replaced just about every part of the AC in my 350-equipped jeep Cherokee, pretty confident I can handle this. If not, worst thing I bring it to a mechanic.
If I decide to have a pro do it, what's better-- dealership, of local mechanic?
