The passenger's side window failed to open, when that happened I heard a part fall down into the door. Upon disassembly we found this wire guide had snapped off. Of course GM doesn't sell that part! New lift assembly on the way. Has anyone seen this issue before? Thx! Jerry
I had the same thing happen on both of my windows within a week of each other. That part was held in with just plastic pins, what a bad idea.
I just cut off the old pins and then just bolted the piece back on. Getting the cable into the piece was a PITA as the winding has a self-adjust to take up the slack.
Be sure to mark the position of the regulator at the bottom front and make marks around the clamps on the window. This really helps getting the window back in the same place.
There is a black rubberized cover that you need to remove. Be careful! Mine were so old that they both crumbled. Cost about $55 each from dealer - couldn't find aftermarket.
The plastic pins used to hold this on will fail eventually. I recommend that the center plastic pin be driven out and a small bolt be put in there instead.
