98 TAC module weirdness

98 TAC module weirdness
Hey guys, im having some issue with the TAC on my 98 c5. long story short it had reduced power and TAC trouble codes, and was told to replace the TAC. So here i am with the side fender off, and the part i was sold is a Dorman 599-959. fits in the spot, but the clips are on the revers side of the original, really weird. but, no big deal i just loosened up the wires to give me enough slack to flip them around. installed new TAC, started up and... horrible, horrible idle. tons of engine codes, real bad. turned it off put the old one back in and it runs normal.
anyway, the original TAC has part number 25317611 B on it, if i google that i get cadillac parts. was i sold the wrong TAC module? or is there some sort of procedure i have to follow after putting in a new TAC?
sorry for the amateur nature of all this. im just trying to save $500 vs the stealership. thanks in advance.

Does not seem to list the corvette at all. Cross-references with 12573059 and 12588923. Could be wrong, but ...
Looks like the TAC cross-references with: 19245405, 19245405, 12578953. Looks like it's out of stock most places. https://www.wholesalegmpartsonline.c.../19245405.html seems to have it in stock (?) though it's most likely reman, not new. https://www.ebay.com/itm/1997-04-C5-...t/301486718508 has one in stock, used, though that's your part number (25317611). It's possible that 25317611 is an old part number that was later replaced by one of the others.
