Default Fuel return mod..ls6 rail

ive got an Ls1 with ls6 intake/injectors/rail. Its going in my 67 chevelle & plan is to turbo it hopefully during the winter.

I was wondering if someone could guide me on how I could do a return on the rail? Do I just unscrew the test port infront of the rail & use that? Could I use the stock regulator or would I need to get an aftermarket 1? (Goal is about 600-650whp)

also, what sort of an fitting I’d need to use on the rail for the -6 braided line for my fuel setup. Any summit part # would be greatly appreciated 😊

thanks

p.s any recommendations for inline fuel pump?

To do it right, get aftermarket rails and an aftermarket regulator and plum accordingly. Using the test port can potentially give insufficient flow (test port cross section is much smaller than the lines/rail, which will cause a pressure delta)

You can do full custom AN fittings with braided hose (nylon or stainless, which would determine what fittings to use) or you can do an el cheepo line setup. Use fuel rated 3/8th rubber hose and run the length of the car twice, (not sure how you are connecting to the tank, stock pickup or sump. I recommend a sump if doing turbos/blower) barb fittings brazed on the front portion of the stock rails (cut the test port off and the front part of the other side, braze the stock feed)

Many ways to skin this cat man.

On fuel pumps, you can get by with a early 90's ranger pump, little loud but gets the job done if mildly modded. Walbro pump works well also but a bit more $$, but would be better for turbo/blower.

I always just cut the back caps off of the factory fuel rails and braze stainless -6 AN fittings onto the rail. Fuel goes in the factory feed and then out through the rear ANs.
