I manually open the headlight on the side that I am going to change the directional bulb.
I then disconnect the battery.
Remove the three phillips screws that hold the black shroud on the headlight assembly. (removing the shroud gives me enough room to reach down and remove the socket and replace the bulb.)
Remove the shroud.
I then reach down into the headlight area and remove and replace the turn signal bulb. Then reverse to reassemble.
It does not take a lot of time to do this. It is just my preferred way of doing the job.
I noted in one of the youtube videos that the turn signal bulb and side marker lights tend to become very hot. In the video these bulbs were replaced with LED's. Does anyone have the LED number bulb to be used for this change?
If you have small hands, a petite wife or a young child, you can push the brake air vent tubes out of the way and reach through that opening to access bulb fixture.
