Just a quick question about the fuel pressure should you or should you not get fuel pressure to the fuel rails when the key is cycled on before start up. Every other car that I have worked on always gets a shot of fuel when the key is cycled on for start up and then when the oil pressure is read by the ecm then the pump comes on and runs . I am not getting the first shot of fuel when the key is cycled which leaves me to believe the I have a bad fuel pump relay or maybe the ignition switch . Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for the advice, I will swap my relays and see if I get that first shot like I am supposed to. I have already replaced the fuel pump and sending unit and when it does start it runs fine and has good fuel pressure so it looks like maybe a relay but I will check and make sure. Once again thanks everyone
I do not have 12 volts on pin #30 when the key is turned on , I thought that it should be getting 12 volts there to supply the relay. If there is supposed to be 12 volts on pin #30 then I either have a broke wire or a bad ECU. If anyone knows which pin and plug on the ECU is the wire that goes to pin #30 at the relay I would appreciate it that way I can check for voltage at the ECU to see if its the wire or the ECU. Thanks for any help or advice.
