Default wipers won't stop

Hey guys, my 97 C5 wipers have a tendency to come on by themselves and the switch will not turn them off. When I use the ignition key to kind of trap them at the bottom of their stroke then they will go to the hideaway position. Any clues?

My 04 motorhome (GM Workhorse) did this and one of the causes was water in the connector to the wiper motor.

I may have to take a look at that on my 97. My wipers won't go all the way back down into the parked position. Motor works fine but the wipers stop in the intermittent position, not all the way down. Wiper motor works fine otherwise. I don't drive in the rain anyway. Would just like to get them to park. The last time they did this they went back down after starting it again.

Mine do not turn off after a heavy rain or washing the car. Last autox I went to it rained the night before and about the second corner they wiper came on and would not turn off. So I pulled the fuse. Later that night I replaced the fuse and they went into the "parking" position. I have issues with the replacement motor allowing moisture into the connection. You may want to check there as well

Once in a while, I've accidentally pushed the wiper stalk up, and when I turn the wipers off, the passenger side wiper doesn't go all the way down. After a few days, randomly when I start the car, it will just miraculously return to the correct position. I'm pretty sure it's some type of controller in the wiper motor that has an intermittent failure. I haven't bothered to replace it, since it happens rarely and always eventually returns to the correct position. But luckily, it's not an expensive or hard to reach part.
