2000 corvette

1. Car starts if I disconnect and reconnect the battery
2 If I shut it off, longer than 5 minutes it will not restart (unless I disconnect & reconnect the battery)
3. Codes that came up are:
BORFA- U10968H U1016H and U1064H
Code 28TCS- 1255H
40BCM- B2527
99HVAC-B0446H
These are the codes that came up.
The car sat last winter with the battery connected, the battery went dead and now this is the problem
Thank you for your help :-)
Cranks but does not start??
Does NOT crank??
If the problem is a SECURITY issue then the security light on the dash will remain illuminated when the key is left in the ON position for 10 or 20 seconds
Next time it will not start pull the codes and post them. List the H or C or HC that follows each 5 character code. List the codes under the sensor they show with. ie 10 - PCM or 28 - TCS or 40 - BCM ...... etc ..... If any sensor has NO COMM nest to it post that also.
If you have never pulled codes on your C5 here is how:

QUOTE=8VETTE7;1596067852]Please try this the next time the car will not crank BEFORE you disconnect the battery.
Pull the codes BEFORE you disconnect the battery and post them again.
With the key in the ignition and in the ON position try to open/close the electric windows. Post back the results please.
The symptoms you have with NO RELATIVE codes being set may point to a BCM that might not be coming out of sleep mode by the normal means (opening a door or inserting the key into the ignition). The BCM is involved in operating the windows and should only do so if the BCM is NOT in sleep mode.
If the windows do function then there are likely other things that are causing the symptoms of NO Crank until you effectively reboot the BCM. (removing the battery cable or pulling and reinserting fuse #25 in the passenger foot well fuse box will reboot the BCM)[/QUOTE]

New codes are as follows:
BO RFA U1096 H
U1016 H
U1064 H
28 TCS C1255 H
40 BCM B2527 HC
99 HVAC B 0446 H
Thank you!
One more set of test to try to determine if the issue is BCM failing to come out of sleep.
When you go to start the car turn the key to the ON position (NOT start position) and leave it there for about 10 seconds.
The gauges should sweep all the was clockwise and then back to resting position. Do they do that???
The SECURITY light on the dash should come on solid for a few seconds and then go out. Does it do that???
If they answers to the two questions are YES then the problem is NOT the BCM coming out of sleep mode and we will have to look at other possibilities like ignition switch, starter/starter solenoid or poor connections at major battery connection points.
