Steering wheel removal
Quick question, in the instructions on removal of the steering wheel they want you to disconnect the trunk release and fog lights? I don’t see why, What’s the reason?
Thanks..
Thanks..

I don't either but I hope yours comes off easier than mine...thought I was going to have to cut it off or use some C4 to blast

As I remember there is a screw you needed to remove behind the panel with those two switches in it. I think it was the knee pad below the steering column. Funny I don't remember removing that screw when I pulled the wheel.
The official directions seem very ****-retentive about unhooking lots of wiring to the air bag but not affecting the rest of the electrical system. Perhaps dealerships need to work on the car immediately and can't wait for capacitors to die down naturally.
I unhooked the battery the night before. I also dribbled PCBlaster on the splines the next night before pulling the wheel in the morning. (this is not a daily driver)
