I was working on my fog lights, the engine had not run in a couple of days and I noticed the upper radiator hose was flat in the horizontal part of the run. I just read that it could happen from cooling of the fluid and the radiator cap is not letting air in. This was not on a Corvette site, so my question is what should I look for and replace? Do silicone hoses resist this?
Thanks!
Thank you 8vette7, I will get a new one asap. As for burping, I’m in pretty good shape for 70, but I dunno about slinging a c5 over my shoulder....
How do I burp it?
Thank you all for your help! Went to a C&C today, before I started it, I opened the radiator cap and the air sucked in and the hose expanded. Ordered a new cap.

I had the same issue... I took the cap off and soaked in soapy warm water overnight and that fixed the problem.
worth a try.
I've had the same situation occur with my car. I never had any problems because of it. I did replace my coolant cap once but I don't remember why, if it was for that reason or something else. It was quite a while ago. I've also had it happen on my street rod and it never had a problem because of that either.
