For me, an important consideration is whether the tire is constructed to protect the edges of the rims. Properly constructed tires - ones that protrude out beyond the rim - have saved the day for my CCWs on multiple occasions.

I run Nitto INVOs...they're not the best tire for hooking up or high speed, but they do have the best tread wear ratings and they're very quiet. I ran 20k+ miles on my first set, and have 15k (so far) on the second set, without any hiccups on either set. They aren't the least expensive option out there...around $1,200 for a set through Discount Tire. You can go lower if that's your preference.

But IMHO the INVOs will last much longer than Pilot Sports or other tires that are built more for performance.

I'll look into those, also. The Conti ExtremeContact Sport have a 30k mile warranty, as do the INVOs.

Will need to replace the tires soon and seems the 295/35-19 has very little choice out there. Was thinking of going down to a 285/35-19 but may look a little odd on the wide rear wheel.

What about a 325/30-19? Too wide?

Tires in my current sizes I am thinking about are:

Michelin Pilot Sport
Conti ExtremeContact Sport

Suggestions on brands and sizes from those that have dealt with all of this sizing stuff would be awesome.

Present sizes flush tires with fenders almost perfectly.

Thanks in advance!

I have these on my 02 in this exact size. They are not cheap ($360 each) but I love them. I have the Conti ExtremeContact Sport on my 99 and without a doubt, the Michelin Super Sport tires are better.

What brand/model tires do you run? They can get really costly in the rear for Michelin 4S or Potenza RE-71R. Was thinking of Conti ExtremeContact Sport. Thoughts ?
We put the Conti tires on my wife's Audi and we hate them. Performance and tire wear are fine, but we've had 3 flats in less than a year. The sidewalls are really prone to failure. We've had two flats from scrubbing the curb, once while going through the drive through at the bank and once while exiting a parking lot, and one from hitting a pothole. Now I'm running two conti's and two michelin's on the car.

I've heard Conti's can be a little soft on the sidewalls. Hitting, or scrubbing a curb could damage a performance tire. I tend to steer clear of curbs. Not good on the wheels, even if the tire has rim protection.
