After three nights after work getting the heads, cam, headers, intake and other crap on I had to roll her over and put some fire to it :yesnod: I was worried that a 224 on 112 would be too smooth at idle for me. I have to say it just might do! It realy sounded good out of the open TPIS headers :D Well tomorrow will be a pushrod swap I think the 7.035's are ticking :smash: Since the heads are .040 it seemed 7.400's would be too long.. At least that is in the top of the motor.
I can understand exactly how you feel, we put my new engine in on Sat. and fired it up with open headers. of course we brought the oil pressure up before attempting to start it, but it fired immediately. It didn't even seem to crank, just roared.
Gary2k,
How do you build oil pressure before cranking her up?
Is it necessary to get oil flowing on a head and cam install or is that for a fresh motor only?
