FUEL PUMP - IS THIS A COMMON PROBLEM???
My 98 C5 has 24k, and today the dealer tells me my pump is only measuring 30 psi. What should the pressure be? No "service engine soon, or any warning signs." The car would start, but would die within 5-7 seconds. "Newbie, trying to learn."

If the regulator is leaking and won't hold the fuel until the pressure reaches approx. 60#, it doesn't make any difference how good the pump is, you won't have the right pressure. If you shut the engine off with the pressure gage on the fuel rail, and the pressure leaks down to "0", it's probably the regulator. It's the cheapest of the two things to replace so try a new regulator first.
