No start SOS on 97 C5
It did this about a day ago, then fired right up when I came back to it 30 min later.
This one's got me scratching my head. Any advice from you C5 guru's would be appreciated.
Cheers - 97C5

Could be any one of several causes for your symptoms.
Here is a C5 start circuit diagram that may help:

The ignition switch (a well known weak point in the C5) may not be allowing voltage to reach the Park Neutral Position Switch, the Park Neutral Position Switch may have failed or the starter solenoid may be hanging up. The TDR is not likely the cause since your security light goes out after a few seconds
To diagnose the actual cause you need to start measuring voltages at appropriate points in the start circuit using a digital multi meter..
One quick way to determine if the starter/starter solenoid is the cause is to have a helper hold the key in the start position while you place a broom handle on the body of the starter (NOT on the solenoid) and give the end of the broom handle several good whacks with a 3lb hammer. No love taps, solid blows on your end of the broom handle. If the engine starts then the starter/starter solenoid is the failing component.
Well. Had the little lady hold the key in the start position while I did the old whack the solenoid trick. Guess what. She fired on the fourth hit. Guess i'm looking at a new starter.
I owe you a cold one 8Vette7
