Personally, I really like my CCWs, and they're the best "bang for the buck", as far as C-5 wheels go. My second choice, and somewhat pricier (around $3K/set), would be the BBS LM wheel.
los7883,
THanks, that would be them. EVO Axis is the brand and they are built by Weld. I hear they are forged and pretty light weight compared to most other wheels. I think they look great and would be my first or second choice
Re: Aftermarket wheels for Corvettes? (Pewter_Sandman)
I have a set .. of the Weld Axis // :yesnod: . they only come in 20 & 18 's
but they are beautiful.. like a piece of jewelery .. I can't tell you how my compliments I got at the first car show I went to .. I was not even out of the car before I had a crowd around ... They are my first choice .. hope you get to see them in person .. Joe :D
My vote is for the Fikse's. :D But seriously, just pick a wheel that YOU like and get them. Who cares what others think as it is your car man.

Re: Aftermarket wheels for Corvettes? (gaww)
Weld makes the EVO wheels that are very nice. Also, Fiske makes some decent looking rims. Contact Xtreme Motorsports - they have some wheels that resemble the Mallet 5-spoke that are
Like many said, it is just a matter of taste and how much money you want to spend.
Personally, I did not want to put a small fortune in the wheels, so I went with chrome Z06's. I think they look great on my car and are the only set in this area, so it makes my car kind of unique. In larger cities, the Z06's are probably a dime a dozen. :D
If money is not your biggest concern, polished HRE's are as good as it it gets.
I paid just over $4200 for my 547's and they are worth the price. Wheels that cost half as much look like they cost half as much. Its just personal choice, but to me, the wheels were not the mod to skimp on.
Contact one of our supporting vendors whose focus is aftermarket wheels - Wheel Kinetics is the name, I believe. He carries, and appears to be familiar with, an assortment of wheels for the vette.
This is what the OZ website says about the Superlegerra III for the C5 application:
FRONT:
SIZE: 19 " x 9.5 "
OFFSET: 53 mm
PRICE: $ 1120
PART #: SR81575G25XL
REAR:
SIZE: 19 " x 10.5 "
WEIGHT: 25.9 lb
OFFSET: 59 mm
PRICE: $ 1280
PART #: SR92085G25XL
A 20" version will be out Fall of 2002
Those rims look really nice, but really expensive too. Just like RG (exit28) said, buying expensive rims like HRE, is like buying jewelery for the car.
Wish the aftermarket OE replicas or CCWs or even the Mallets came in 19" and 20"....
I love HRE 547's, but don't want to spend the money. I agree that the Chrome Z06's are getting too common, but for good reason. I personally don't care much for the wheels in the middle ground (price wise). Good luck.
Mmarquez,
I’m not sure what the stock size CCW’s weigh because mine came as a package deal with the sensors installed and tires mounted ready to go. Give John a call; he knows what all the different wheels weigh.

I just had a custom set of "Smoothies" made for my Camaro and they are awsome. I wanted the retro 70's look and I got it.
