in my 97, installing an original radio, but I can not get the power to come on, I have voltage to the yellow wire(bat) and red wire(ignition) but it will not come on, only display is when I hit the recall button the time will come on. I have two radios and neither will come on. what am I doing wrong?
If it’s a new radio to your car, I believe you need to find the access code. I needed this a while back and did some research and found a website that gave me instruction of how to do this. Good luck

If its locked up, should LOC be displayed? nothing is displayed, power light does not come on.
Are you using factory connectors for the radio or are you improvising the connections to the radio??
Are you certain the radios that you have are for a C5 Corvette and not just a similar radio from some other GM vehicle?
There are distinct differences between the radio GM used in the C5 and similar looking radios used in other vehicles GM produced in the late 90's and into the early 2000's.
Do you have the connection made to the serial data buss that is on a C5 radio?
ok, both radios came from this forum, but I do not know how to tell if its a C5 radio, the connectors are after market from ebay, I have 2 of them, what is the serial data buss connection? the one in the car has all three connectors connected, the one on my work bench has just 12v battery hooked to it.
I have an orange wire on the c1 connector out the back of the radio that is not spliced in, instructions say dimmer not used, but is this the wire to the serial data buss? the aftermarket radio was not connected to it.
here is a pick of the connector I have, as you can see there is no wire for pin 16 on the blue c2 connector, and none of the wires match up with the diagram you posted, but the wires colors match up with the wire colors from the harness.
I figured it out, there was an adapter harness for the aftermarket radio plugged into the c1/c2 connector and it was tucked behind the hvac head unit, I unplugged it and plugged the c1/c2 into the radio and it works. thanks for your help, without it I would not realize the wire colors were wrong and would not have looked farther back into the dash.
