Default 2003 C5 Driver Door Wiring

I'm having a reoccurring electrical problem with the window and door lock on the driver side. Both stop working at the same time.
Does the door lock and window share the same power or electrical ground?

Thanks for the reply.
I've already changed the driver side door module and checked the fuses. I've also cleaned and lightly applied lithium grease to the connectors that come thru the accordion sleeve.

Last couple of days it's been in the 20's. Car is in a non-heated attached garage. Both window and door lock are working. Something must have shrunk.

Also use the DIC to run the On Board Diagnostics and see if there are any door voltage issues. The diagnostics check the voltage level in the door and if it is too low there can be issues. Make sure the grease you used on the connectors is conductive.

Thanks! Really good info. I'll clear all the codes and look for the codes for the LDCM and RDCM. I misspoke earlier in this thread I did use dielectric grease on the connectors not lithium grease.

Thanks! I was not aware of that. I'll clean the grease from the connectors in the door and the two in the door jam on the car side of the accordion sleeve.

Thanks again. I will disconnect the battery while cleaning. I have CRC contact cleaner on the way to me. I have the special tool set to remove the pins.

I had similar issues with my passenger door. There is a guy on eBay who replaces the relays for both the door lock and the window. I have done my own soldering, but I have also ruined a PCB or two taking parts off. So having someone else go through this appealed to me.

You buy his rebuilt control, then send him yours. This worked for me and I would recommend doing this rather than pay the big $$ at the dealer.

Thanks for the info. I have a local company who is a gold mine for C5 parts. The company is Vette Nuts http://vettenuts.net . Marc Rose is the owner. He regularly parts out wrecked C5. He also carries some hard to find new products as well as accessories.

I have the same reoccurring issue, except that it's intermittent. Wondering if the wire harness going through the door accordion has a broken lead somewhere.

My 2003 C5 coupe has been having intermittent drive side door problem for about 8 years. I've even gone thru and cleaned all the grounding point around the car. Still love my car.
Thanks for everyones input.

I agree with nsogiba I'd check the wires running though the door accordion,I found broken wire in this area several times over the years. You can check by grasping each wire one at a time on both end of the accordion and pull,if they stretch, then you've found your broken wire. Be careful don't pull wire by holding the connector/plug. Good luck
