Default Steering wheel sensor
Hi!
do you know how the steering wheel sensor works on a C5 Vette ?
Electrical contacts, magnetic signal, Hall sensor ?
just curious...

It is built like a potentiometer. When I replaced mine I took it apart and found that the wipers appear to have been installed upside down which puts the sharp points down. I wish I had taken some pics. This would explain the high failure rate.

The pre 01 cars have a potentiometer and an encoder. The 01 and later cars only have an encoder.
