Re: New Delrin ***** with logo and 6 speed patterns... (billreid1@***.net)
As far as plastics go, delrin is actually very heavy and hard. It has very good anti wear characteristics, but will break before it bends. If these shift ***** are solid then I can immagine that they will have a little bit of weight to them. they should also be fairly scratch resistant.
Also dont burn it because it will put off a gas that has the main ingredients of tear gas.

Just figured I'd share some useless knowledge.
Luke :)
Tear gas, eh?... care to take a gander of what gasses will be produced BEFORE the Delrin goes up? My guess is you'll either be out of the car or DEAD before the Delrin goes up? Care to challange my assumption? ;)
Re: New Delrin ***** with logo and 6 speed patterns... (billreid1@***.net)
yeah, I'm not trying to flame (no pun intended) your shifter *****. Just kind of making a joke. I work around delrin all the time and once you get a face full of that stuff it makes you respect it.
Re: New Delrin ***** with logo and 6 speed patterns... (ae1m)
I just ordered mine from Nate the other day :D . Can't wait to try it out. I am a little concerned though...I ordered the 6 speed pattern- how do I know the **** (pattern) will line up properly? Isn't every thread different on each individual shifter? Someone please explain. Thx
Re: New Delrin ***** with logo and 6 speed patterns... (Nate@xtreme)
Nate, I've gone through several *****, and currently have the stock one back on. They are either too short, too fat, or flimsy. I like the **** that my room mate has on his 68 Chevelle. It's a standard hurst **** on a hurst shifter. It's no more than 1.5" diameter. I have a stainless ball that is the stock camaro shift **** size.
Question is, If I don't like the feel and send it back do I get my money back? If the answer is yes, I'll try it. I'll know with in seconds of putting it on. Also, does it lock in place to line the shift pattern up, or will it spin? Is the threading inset in metal or the derlin. I have a tendancy to twist the **** when I grip it.
Re: New Delrin ***** with logo and 6 speed patterns... (SpyRacing)
our **** wont spin when installed as it is a screw on. no locking mechanism, just twist on til you line up the logo or shift pattern.
if you try and dont like it, send it back. no restocking fees unless the part is sent back used or damaged.
