Default Track build component removal

I have been building my car for the track and keep removing more and more. Is there a list of what can be removed and what can't. I am always nervous that I may pull one to many modules and it won't run.

I have already pulled airbags can the srs module come out that is in front of the shifter?

What about door control modules?

Anything that I can't remove other than pcm/bcm?

How far down the rabbit hole are you willing to go???

The only thing left in my car is the PCM and related wires.

Doors are controlled by a typical window switch and relays.

I don't have the cluster anymore either. I'm building a custom display with tach/oil pres/water temp. The car is started with a momentary switch that is part of my Ron Francis switch panel and wiring harness. Head lights work. tail lights work.

Track only car.

Mine is track car only too. No windows or anything to even worry about. Bare bones as possible. Want my gauge cluster and brake lights, other than that just want it to run. I want to keep removing as much as I can and cut wires out but just get nervous that something may trigger something in the pcm that will limit power or speed. Not sure just want to strip it but not move to a stand alone setup.

I'm not entirely certain where the cluster gets its info from, likely a combination of PCM & BCM signals.

Building a new display is pretty easy, if that's an option.

As for triggering reduced power or speed, any of those things can be tuned out. My car runs fine without any of that stuff.

Sounds good, thanks for the info. I was looking at using a tablet and maybe hp tuners as my dash. Sounds like I have a few options.

There's a sticky listing components and weight savings in this section, lising all but Nutri-System!
