Isimple iPod adapter not working?

Got my car back after months in shop and isimple pod adapter will not stay online. It goes in through cd aux input, it starts to work then the radio displays err and boots me back to FM. Has anyone seen this? If it was a bad connection it seems like it would not engage at all.

Was the radio removed or anything opened up behind the center bezel?
Sounds like something was disconnected, misconnected or damaged.

The carpet in the trunk had to be replaced due to fire damage, it could be I guess, back there, I’m not sure how far forward they had to remove. It does start to work and then stops and comes up with the Err code.
