Hello, I’m trying to do some chassis set up on my C-5 Corvette. Previous owner had done a lot of the track preparation work including LG coil over at each corner. I understand that the shock is a Bilstein, I’ve tried to see on their site if I could figure out the stroke links from their specifications. They provide various stroke lengths so there’s no way of knowing what LG specified with their set up. The links of the stroke appears to be 4 inches which does not seem right, does not line up with anything on the Bilstein site. Anybody have any input would be much appreciated!!
The issue I am having is this, we installed the stock Z06 spring with just the LG/Bilstein shock ( coil over spring removed) . This is required to get the car into the SCCA T2 class. With the stock spring, and that particular shock the spring is pushing this shock to the end of it stroke. And the shock appears to be holding the spring tight, a preload condition. When I set the car down on its own weight it does not move/compress the spring shock at all! Meaning there will be no rebound. I don’t like that condition! LOL Ride height adjustment bolt is bottomed all the way down to the lowest ride hike position.

do you have the g2 or gt2 coilovers?... the g2 (blue spring, silver shock) are bilstein as far as I know and the gt2 (black spring, red shock) are not... I would say to contact Anthony but I don't think he is with LG anymore, you might need to go straight to Lou to get the correct answer

I don't know if that setup is ever going to work. I'd call LG. That said, the G2's are an awesome setup, so you'll be able to get good money selling the complete coilover set. I'd then look for a standalone shock that optimizes the setup with the leaf spring. Does your class allow adjustable shocks? If so there are many good options.

Hey there, thanks for the reply! I actually called over to LG a few weeks ago when I first started down this road looking for sharks. Their recommendation was to take the coil overs off the shocks I have an use them. My next call is to them for sure I was just hoping to get some answers on these as we are continuing work on the car. The class does allow any shock, the stock spring however must be used, or Chevy T1 suspension upgrade. So a little more background… I still had the Z06 stock springs so going back to that set up was not that big of a deal.
did some massaging and working around the ride height was able to lower the car and was able to get better travel and a little bit of rebound. Still surprised at how little these shocks stroke, done for the day will be calling into LG and see where this takes me.
