Default LMC5 problem

First iff let me say i have a 2004 z06 with about 37000 miles on it. Got it last August as a birthday prexent from my wife. Yeah.....she is a keeper.

Anyways i have been reading abput the column lock issue and trying to ward off anything bad i bought the lmc5 and installed it. Now i have to say the car had no issues before the install. After installing the unit i got the pull key message. So i did as told....pulled the key and after aboit 15 to 20 seconds tried it again. This time i got the service column lock message. So at this point i i went back in and did the brown wire mod. Again after hooking up the battery i got the remove key followed by the service column lock message.

i pulled the codes and the only code i have is a bcm 2587 h code.

I charged the battery to full capacity before starting this procedure.

i have emailed Compliance a couple of times already and havent heard back yet, but i am sure they are busy so i am not running them down in any way.

i just want to have my car back so i can use it. I will keep this thread updated with any updates i recieve.

I had the issue with the pull key as well after the lmc5 install. Even had some weird symptoms after the brown wire mod. I called Richard and he walked me through everything. Try giving him a call instead of email and see if he is able to help you out! hes a real genuine guy.

Got an email from them and they gave me a couple of things to check. They also said they would get it figured out. I am confident in them so we will see.

So after getting an email from Compliance Parts it was determined that i had eithrr installed the lmc5 incorrectly or fuse 23 was bad. I pulled the fuse and after determining it was good i reinstalled the fuse. I then put the key in and got the remove key and wait 10 seconds message. After reinsertting the key the car started up and i got no messages. So i think that was the problem. I had taken the lmc5 out to see if that was the probkem so now i will reinstall it and see if that fixes my problem. Will update when it is done.

I am relatively new to Vettes with my recent purchase of a 99 (I love my car..., I love my car...) C5. I've gotten similar messaging. It would happen if I start the car and immediately pull off. I've found that I must let the car idle for only a few seconds before charging off. Maybe this is nothing, but after following this procedure for more than a year, I have not received messages similar to what you are describing. Just an FYI.
