Default Outside mirror

Had the mirror glass come loose from the black backing plate. Looks like some sort of silicone type of adhesive was used to glue the two parts together. What is the best adhesive for the back of the mirror?

Thanks Elwoodjake

I never had a mirror issue on a car but when I was attaching mirrors to walls in my home I used a special adhesive that I bought in Home Depot made from that purpose. Sorry, I do not recall the name.

I think regular Permatex Black would work fine. Let it get a little tacky first before smooshing your mirror onto it.
