Default Ls6 head gasket

Can someone confirm before I place an order that this is the exact size stock head gasket for an ls6? Thanks

3.910" bore size is what you are after, stock thickness is .054" or .051" depending on where you look. GM Part# 12498544 is for pair of factory gaskets for LS1/LS6.

I do suggest considering running some Cometic .040" gaskets, part# C5475-040 . They are more expensive but they will bump the compression ratio up from the stock 10.5-1 to ~10.86-1 while also obtaining a more ideal quench distance. I figure might as well get a benefit while in there. I did that with mine rather than going with a stock thickness gasket. Just be aware of PTV distance if you already have milled heads and a large cam, etc. etc.

I checked your link...the 12589226 part number is for a single head gasket and 12498544 is for the pair. Oddly enough, the pair is only a few bucks more. Either one will work, might even be the same.

That is strange that the pair isn't more than the single. Thanks though I will go with the 12498544
