Default Help with c5 hood adjustment (pics)

Hey all so im struggling with the fitment of my hood and I’m looking for some input or ideas on fixing this.

It looks as if the driver side front hood portion is sticking up, the passenger side is pretty flush but the driver side is really bugging me.

here are some pics, any help welcome

So I played with it some and I figured Out it was the hood shock holding the hood up on the corner, I removed it and the hood sits a lot flatter now however I can only get one latch to actually latch down, the passenger side will not line up with the latch correctly.

no idea why the shock would be an issue unless it’s the wrong one so for now the only way to get an “ok” gap is to leave it off, and even then I’m only managing to latch one side, anyone have any ideas?

Here’s an updated pic

There are bump stops on all four corners of the hood area to help raise or lower the hood. If you reinstall the shock and then lower the bumpers on the drivers' side the hood will lower down some. You "lower" the hood by loosening up the nut holding the bumper, and then turning the bumper clockwise so it "lowers" into place, then finish by tightening up the hold nut.

For the hinge, you will probably need to loosen the side liner latch and slide it slightly so it contacts the catch under the hood better. My rough guess based on your second photo is the latch itself needs to slide a bit forwards. You'll see that each side latch has a minor amount of adjustment if you loosen the hold bolts.

Default Hood

Looks like the same hood I have , the fit /finish in general is not the greatest .it took a bit of making adjustments to get a decent fit . You’lll end up with some spots high and some low , kinda split the difference and decide which areas you can live with that aren’t perfect .
