Default Fuel pump/siphon gas

Going to change the fuel pump on my c5 cause it completely died, has 0 pressure at rail. Electronic issues ruled out.

have a full tank of gas.

I read stuff about jumping battery and siphoning out?? Will that work if my fuel pumps completely dead?

I'm guessing it is 100% necessary to drain gas to change my pump.

can only find the lingenfelter how to but it doesn't have any directions on how to drain tank.

any advice or can someone point me in the right direction of a post? I just can't find one. I don't think the battery idea is going to work cause my pumps completely dead

What year is your C5? If access is on back side of tank then maybe you can buy a cheap electric carb fuel pump and connect to the correct fuel out line and suck it out that way possibly?

Here is how you tank system looks like
The electrical pump(pressure from electrical pump) in the left tank is feeding the siphron pump and moving gas from right tank over to the left tank through line 3 . If the electrical pump is dead I guess you may have to drain the tanks slowly by loosing the screws on electrical fuelpump cover and drain the gas into a bucket or any similar .
