When I first purchased my 2000, I had this wierd roaring noise at 6 to 10 mph only. As it turned out , a field rep had another TUNED Absober made to a different frequency (57 hz) and it helped alot and almost completely eliminated the roaring.
This Tuned Absorber is mounted on the side of the differential. I understand that ALL C5's have this component. It is used to reduce resonant frequencies coming from rear end.
If you have this wavering roaring noise at 6 to 10 mph. This is most likely the problem.
