Default What HP increase can I expect....

I picked up a 99 vert, 34,000 miles. Quite happy with the car. I'm considering a cold air intake, new exhaust and re-map. If I get this car "breathing" what can I expect in HP gain? And, what can I expect in seat of the pants fun enhancement?

By new exhaust, are you including headers? If so probably 30-35HP? If you're talking rear section only, maybe 15-20 depending on the CAI and tune?

Those mods alone want get you much. Most of the enhancement will be sound. Making more power requires more investment. What trans and diff do you have. If auto the trans can be tweaked and will make the car feel quicker. What is your budget?

CAI and catback maybe 10-15.....no reason to get it tuned...

add LT headers with the above and anywhere from 30-40rwhp (maybe a few more) with a good increase in rwtq which is what you will really feel

FWIW, its been awhile but.....in the early days on my 99 M6 with 3:42 rear end....my Blackwing and Borla Stingers and LT headers took me from 296rwhp to 328rwhp ....I added a small cam and got to ~353...eventually added a Maggie and was up at 500rwhp/517rwtq ....

stock LS1 dyno around 296-301 rwhp just FYI

Have fun

I was going to add what BigGun perhaps alluded to; if you have an auto nothing will change the car as much as dropping in a 3.42 rear gear set from a stick car.

Interesting...thanks, I'll do some research on this. The car is an auto.

My thoughts are get the car breathing first, then decide what to do. I've got $5K i'm willing to spend to enhance it....interested in your thoughts. The gear change mentioned I'll consider, but I do like the driveability of the car today.

Buy a centrifugal kit then and be done.
