Default Good cam

can anyone answer weather this cam would drop in to my bolt on ls1. I have a ported ls6 intake, 80mm bbk tb, tuned granatelli maf and muffler delete with borla resonator. I have PAC. 650 springs with titanium retainers to install to support the lift. Just hope I can drop it in. Any feedback woukd be appreciated.

would hope you had headers for a cam like this. Might have to go to bigger injectors too

That's a pretty aggressive cam...you're very likely going to need a tune after installing.

Forgot to mention I have 13/4 headers being installed, and track the car 1/8th mile over 4000feet elevation 2-3 times a year. With z06 injectors. I expected to need a tune as it has a flashpac tune so 400ish hp. Quetion being am I going to run into ptv clearance issues or is it a safe cam and lift. Always run on chevron 94 octane

Compression ratio way too low for a cam like that.

That cam belongs in a 427 or similar big cube motor.

If that was in a 346 it would have to be a high compression, high rpm screamer.

PASS on that cam.

I would think the PTV clearance is minimal with that cam; you may have to flycut. With stock heads, you may have better results with something around 230-234 duration. The intake mods aren't doing much of anything, with the exception of a LS6 intake manifold. Z06 injectors may also be at max or beyond, so have your tuner check. Also, a Lingenfelter fuel pump is a nice safety net.

Default BTR stage 2

Would a stage 2 BTR N/A ls1 cam be mild enough for my stock ls1, with described bolt one?? What would I need to support the cam? Trying to keep heads on till fall.

I haven't memorized all the manufacturer's specs, so post a link, or just list the cam specs if you want an opinion.

I'm running that cam (BTR Stage 2) and didn't have PTV issues even with slightly milled heads. I really like the cam and with my heads (Livernois Stage 3) and LS6 Intake it made 440whp after dyno tune.

All that said, when I measured PTV, it was at the minimum recommended amount. I'd consider this to be the biggest you could go without needing to pull the heads.

The biggest concern with PTV is the exhaust valve because the piston is moving towards it while it's opening. A cam with slightly less exhaust duration (which is what matters on PTV, not lift) might be just a tad safer. Something like a Cam Motion Titan 4...

VERY similar to the BTR Stage 2, just a bit of changes on the exhaust side (less duration, more lift) which would be preferred when concerned about PTV.

This will fit in a stock C5. So ptv with cam cam is no problem without milled heads.

I'm also running the BTR stage 2 with a similar setup and am making similar power. I have AHP ported 243 heads and LS6 intake, among other supporting mods, and made 449 whp.

I'm very happy with the cam. The car is still plenty comfortable to daily drive for me, even through traffic and parking lots, yet obviously still makes great power.

Okay so I bought a 230/236 cam 112lsa. Just a smidge under .600 lift on Both sides. My question is will I need new injectors over z06? And with the extra .110 lift should I get .050 longer pushrods? Remember I don' want to take the heads off. Ordering degree wheel immediately. Thanks any help appreciated

Looks like a pretty good, though still largeish choice. I really liked that BTR NA stg2. 7.4" pushrods.

You will very likely need new injectors, but the only way to know for sure is to get it together and have you tuner check the duty cycles on the stock injectors under WOT. My car needed larger ones, I just went with 36 lb GTP injectors. Fortunately, they're easy enough to swap out at the tuner.

Lift has no bearing on pushrod length. With 100% stock heads, you'll PROBABLY be ok with 7.4" pushrods. Best to get the cam in the engine and measure with a length checker. They're cheap.
