Default Fast blinker with new hazard switch

I have a 1998 C5. Both sets of blinkers are blinking fast. I just replaced the hazard switch to solve a 'no brake light' issue. The blinkers were working fine prior to replacing the switch.
Good news...the brake lights work bad news on the blinkers

The hazard switch is an Airtex.

Inside the hazard switch is a timer for the signal switching speed that is load dependent, less load like led lamps cause faster switching. It sounds like the new switch is defective since you state that the switching speed was good with the old switch. Are the signal lamps stock or led?

Thanks Fast one, the lamps are stock. I'll order another switch and try it again.

I replaced my switch last year and have the same issue. Don't want to take the dash apart again to try a new flasher so I just deal with it.

JDMVette - I tried refilling the bulbs but that didn't work so I put in a new Dorman switch and problem solved. Thanks again Fast One!!

The second time was much quicker. Job was done in less than one hour

This is a great forum!!
