Default C6 E-brake into C5?

Anyone know if this can be done? There is a place that sells carbon handles for the C6 , but they don't offer one for the C5. Wondering about switching the whole unit...

Google'd your question. Found this thread:

Looks like they attach differently

The C6 handle is on the left and has a bend.

Agreed. Can't thank Josh enough for the link. If I ever get my VN bezel and head unit installed I think this is the next project. I feel like my lever is never as high as either in that thread. Maybe they are just not adjusted right? Once mine is back together I can see were it actually sits and go from there. Either way, I think it would be pretty easy to take apart the C6 unit and modify it for better fitment. Won't know until I actually have one in hand though.

I just did this install this week. I cut a slit into the C6 lever and bent it to achieve a fit and appearance that is better than the stock C5 lever. After that I welded the slit shut, bent the rod that runs to the button for proper function and swapped the cable from one lever to the other. Now I just need my Redline Alcantara shift and e brake boots and RFE carbon/leather handle with carbon button to ship.

While I was in there I added Noinco sound deadener and a Vettenuts premium insulation kit to the tunnel. I thought I'd get my Vettenuts double din in at the same time, but I guess it's going to have to wait for now.

those carbon handles do look really nice, too bad the guy won't make them for the c5... I'm considering this swap for the same reason... so you reused the c5 brake cable?... I found a c6 lever and handle on ebay for cheap and the cable has been cut but if I can reuse my current cable I might get it... does the brake switch hook up the same way as well?

Bolts to floor and cable attaches exactly like the C5. Not gonna lie, I was really concerned it would be hard to get the cable off and back on. It is SUPER easy. If you have a manual it's pretty well explained. Literally takes like two minutes to swap out the whole unit once the console is out and wheels are off. I should have my Redline stuff and the carbon handle by early July I think. Can't wait!
