Default C5 Window Adjustment

My driver door recently suffered an accident & had to be replaced. Me being as paranoid as I am stripped the door & took it off instead of taking the whole car to the shop. Found a good replacement door & had it painted. Finally got the (new) door on the hinges & adjusted good yesterday & am trying to finish everything else up now. This door glass is kicking my ***. I’ve spent hours adjusting it & it’s never right. I’ve played with the up/down bolts where it bolts to the regulator, & the ones that have the inverted torx head on it that’s supposed to tip it in & out. I’ve had the door panel & the outer piece on & off about 100 times with every little adjustment. No matter what I do the glass is tipped in too far to be able to close the door. Somebody please help.

Matt

You have to adjust the glass position first.
With the inner door panel off and a helper. at the top of the door there are a couple of black tape patches over the openings for the bolts that hold the glass in place

* loosen the bolts that hold the glass in place
* move the glass fore and aft until it is positioned properly against the weather strip
* now work on the up/down position until the glass is close on the weatherstrip
*tighten the bolts that hold the glass
* now work the fine adjustments

I did adjust the glass position first. It’s like the torx bolts that are supposed to tip it in/out aren’t working. I literally turned them as far as they could go to tip it outward & it was no different than when i started. I don’t know what to do I’ve been fighting with it for hours.

First two pics show the problem. 3rd I held the glass outward to shut the door. The height of the glass/positioning of it on the regulator is not the problem. The problem is that the glass is pointing inward. No matter how much I adjust the supposed “tip in/out” inverted torx adjustment bolts literally nothing changes. All I need is for the glass to tip out. It’s the same with or without the door panel on. Very frustrating.

Are you only supposed to adjust tip in/out with the window fully up? Or does it matter?

The window should be fully closed before attempting to do the fine adjustment of the tip in/out.

Can you get a couple of pictures of the door closed with the camera square to the side of the car. The pictures provided so far have too much angle to them for me to tell which way to adjust things.
