Moving from LS1 block to LS2 for forced induction
Will be replacing LS1 in 2003 C5 with Forged LS2 block for FI. What covers etc. will I need? Is it possible to keep the LS1 style covers and cam sensor on an LS2 block or must I upgrade to the front mounted LS2 style engine cover? I know a harness adapter is available. I will be keeping the LS1 computer so I will need a 24 tooth reluctor which I think will not be a problem as I can order that with the rotating assembly. I am confused as online I see covers listed as for LS1/LS2. How can they be both?
Those who have done this could you give me a run down on what I need to transplant the LS2? Thanks

On my motor I went with the LS3 block for the added displacement on the stock crank. I used an adapter harness and converted to LS2/3 cam and knock sensor locations. Worked like a champ on my setup.

Yes, but can you tell me what covers/parts ( front, rear, valley, oil pump, timing chain. etc) that are specific to the LS2 and the LS1 parts can't be used??
