I bought a pioneer but the clip it comes with is a smaller gauge wire than the harnes in the car. And a PITA that id rather pay someone to install. If there’s a universal clip adapter for a certain head unit please fill me in. I’m gonna return this unit because it didn’t cond with the face plate so any and all ideas are welcome

I can vouch for the DD radio bezel from Vettenuts, great fit and finish. Haven't had a chance to post my install but it was better the factory fit, it is a little more costly but you will not be disappointed.
I installed the Metra bezel and fit very well.
I modified it with double USB charge port and a seperat USB port to
play music from a USB memorystick.
I am very pleased with the result

Which head unit is that ? Back up camera ? Looks awesome
I removed the licenseplate and took out the backlights
I cable is routed under the carpet to the rear wall where I drilled a hole
behind the location of the right backuplight . I filled this hole with some
black sealents .

Thanks , It's a Kenwood 40-DD5016DAB Head and Kenwood CMOS 230 backup camera.
I live in Norway , Europe and need a DAB radio due to our FM radio net has been closed down .
This is how I mounted the USB charge piece and soldered wires onto it .
Did you need a new interface to install your head unit ? The adapter company I purchased from said my 04 doesn’t require one. I got mine all wired into their adapter and I got no power no nothing...
I also installed this subwoofer KSC-SW11 from Kenwood so I could enjoy my AC/DC music better
With only the stock speakers the music the music was missing most of the bass on my 00 car

Damn! I was hoping to avoid that. Last question... did you have to run off another constant in the passenger floor well or under the steering column? Or just wire the adapter it comes with and plug and it was finished ?

I took this info info delivered with this adapter and the info delivered with the new head unit and soldered together the wires according to this .
Here is how the wires and wire are put together prior to installation in the car .The seperate red wire goes to ignition on/off 12volt , the black plug on the left into the new head and white plug on the right into the oem plug in the old harness .
I used this one to cut and remove the old OEM support for the AC control and old head unit
Anybody have this double din bezel for the C5? Comes with plug and play harness. Looks great!

Didn't you buy the package you mentioned above? If yes, it includes the required interface. You won't need to buy another one.
If you already installed the Axxess XSVI-2004 that came in the package, but you're getting no power to the headunit, remember that after completing the wiring it requires an "initialization" and after that, you would have to adjust the built-in controls.

No, trying to save $ so I bought a different set up.

There's no way around that. To properly replace just the head unit leaving the rest of the system in place you will need an adapter (not just a harness) to provide the required interface. This is due to the way the factory system was designed.
Replacing the head unit should be just plug-and-play by using either one. Both have setup adjustments to customize sound/levels. After tweaking them to your liking, they shouldn't require any further touching.

I found a reputable installer to install a new 10inch sub/ amp and my head unit. Getting done at this moment. Rather pay to have it done right without the head ache. Thanks everybody!!

I will be installing a DAB radio this summer, as FM will be phased out in the UK in a few years time and was wondering what aerial you used and how it performs with regards to signal dropout.
