Default Installing New Headers

Newbie question here.....When installing new headers can I delete the ports that normally come out of the top of the manifolds and do away with the piping so that it looks cleaner after the install? The headers that I'm thinking of using do not have the ports on them. Thank you ahead of time for any info..

Yes, it's called the AIR delete. You will need block off plates. Ebay has them. Search for LS1 AIR BLOCK OFF DELETE PLATES & GASKETS
And you will probably need new spark plug wires that bend. Stock ones will hit long tube headers.

If your headers don't have the port then simply get block off plates and remove the piping. You may get a check engine light for a related code too, but that can be tuned out.

if the headers don't have air pipe provisions then you don't need block off plates, just remove the pipes, air pump, etc... you will get an ses light but it can easily be tuned out so the light will not come on and the car will pass state emissions testing
