Code B1537
Reset button on the DIC switch on my 98 is not working (press hard does not reset the DIC) and I get a B1537 DTC code (Switch 6 Reset short to ground). Does this mean the switch will need to be replaced or could there be a wiring issue? There are no other codes related to this problem.

Yep, have tried to pull it up, seems like it's OK. I can feel it click when it's pressed but get no response. Also, if it was stuck "in", I'd think that the reset would be actuated 100% of the time. However, messages on the DIC like trip time, trip distance and the % of time left on the last oil change are unaffected by the button as it sits or when it's pushed no matter how long it's held or how hard it's pushed.

The other odd symptom is that after using the DIC (pressing other buttons and trying the reset), I get a beep and the DIC stops working, it does not reset since when it comes back on the time and trip data etc is unchanged. Usually turning the key to OFF and resetting the key to ON will allow the DIC to restart and act like it did before the beep. Does anyone know of a god trouble-shooting procedure short of tearing into the dash??
