Is the headlight motor broken, or are you buying a spare one?
There are 2 type of headlight motors. The one that was factory installed from "1997 to early 2000" and the one from "late 2000 to 2004" (although they are interchangeable):
The 97 to early 2000 motor assembly is all aluminum and has a removable side cover that is held on with 3 machine screws.
The late 2000 to 2004 headlight motor assemblies are plastic and the side cover is glued on.
If the plastic gear failed in your 1999, replacing it with a brass one is very easy. It's a matter of just removing 3 screws, replacing the gear and internal rubber isolator, and screwing back the cover. You can save some money going this way and you'll know it was properly done
