Default Been away - wipers

Hi C-5 members. Was in the Caribbean since 5/15. I brung my dad back 12/07/17, here in Bucks County PA. Glad to be back here with a great group of people.
Four five days ago wipers started working on there own, anyone else experience this? I cannot shut off, today when I started the car they stay off for about 15 minutes til I got close to my place of employment.
Thank you

Clogged udders is a pretty common issue with the C5.

If you are lucky you can clear the debris so that the wells will drain and perhaps the wiper motor will dry out and be OK. Worst case would be a new wiper motor.

You can replace just the pulse board for about 80-90 dollars. This is less than a new motor.. The motor is likely fine since the motor is working.

I replaced my motor. It was like 50 bucks at the local parts store. Took an hour to do the job.

An ACDelco motor is about 150 or more. I suppose you could buy junk for less. It took me about 2 hours to do mine when all was said and done. A pro who has done the job before could probably do it a little faster. It is not a hard job after you have done it a few times.

Update, udders had lots of trash in them. Motor is acting normal, first time my cars isn’t cover or garaged. Got plenty of rain here in Pennsylvania last week and half. Will be in garage in central FL again in July. Thanks everyone
